Geez, talk about Multiple Personality Disorder, James thought, raising his eyebrows. He looked down at the girl and had the urge to back up very slowly; images of The Shining flicked through his mind, but he shoved them back, keeping his face as schooled as possible.
"Why don't you tell Sirius yourself? If I'm not good enough to be your date, shouldn't I be insulted to be good enough only to be your messenger boy?" James replied cynically, a little more heat in the words than he intended. But it couldn't be helped; Lily was acting stranger than he had ever seen her and was almost like a wild animal when it came to any mention of her going out on a date with him. It was... spooky. That was the only word he could think of that fit Lily's new temper.
He gave a sardonic salute to Snape. "Have fun, old chap. Might wanna conjure up some chains to hold that beast of yours." He stepped around the pair and the pack of Slytherins and continued to the Gryffindor Tower, ignoring the itchy place between his shoulder blades. Oh, boy, he was just digging himself into a hole with that girl. Too bad it was far too much fun to push all of her buttons.

As James walked away, Lily knew it worked. Smiling to herself, she turned to Severus again, still a bit distraught by the fact that he had jinxed Tom just for asking her out. “Sorry buddy, but I knew Potter was walking over here, and my lacking a date would just give Sirius the excuse of getting us together. But I do wish to know why the Merlin’s Beard you jinxed Tom.”
“So, you didn’t want to go out with Potter?” relief was plain in Severus’s black eyes. “I jinxed him because Sirius gave me a gallon and told me he asked you out, and I got overprotective.”
“Well, you stuck me in a tight spot, but helped in the long run. Sorry for that, but poor Potter never seen me in a temper before, and I decided to play it up a bit,” Lily couldn’t hate her best friend for longer than a few moments. “Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to bed, and so should you before you get in trouble.” Lily quickly gave him a soft peck on the check and hurriedly skipped down the corridor, unable to hide her grin.

"Ugh, Sirius" Remus said in revulsion, "Your repulsive, you know that? I don't understand what those gal's see in you. Your hardly charming. Remus backed away from his friend, swiftly keeping away from the finger in question.
As Sirius laughed, rolling around on the bed like a fool, Remus plopped himself down on the floor leaning back against the wall. As he looked up, he noticed Sirius was still looking at him, a silly look upon his face. "Errr.. you ok over there Pads?"

Sirius continued to stare, until he saw Remus' lips moving. Oh! He was talking! "Who, me?" Wait, that was stupid, there's only one Pads in the room...why wasn't he thinking clearly?
Sirius hopped off the bed, crossed the room, and jumped onto his own, reaching down under the other side, and feeling around until he found it. He pulled two large bottles of Fire Whiskey out and waved it at Remus. "Want to play a game?"
Not looking at Remus and not taking no for an answer, Sirius plopped off the bed and sat against the wall next to Remus. "Okay, Moony," he said without looking at him, "so here's what we're going to do," he said, putting both bottles between them. "We're going to do that thing where we take turns saying something we've never done, and if the other person has done it they take a drink." Sirius sat up straight. "I'll go first. I've never missed the Hogwarts Express."

James was leaning against the wall next to the portrait of the Fat Lady, cool eyes watching as Lily practically skipped down the hallway toward him and he watched as she skid to a stop and stared at him. He gave her a Cheshire grin and waved his fingers at her, far more pleased with himself than he really should have been. Her little display with Snape had flicked a switch on his own temper, one, unlike her, that he was completely in control of and had served him well in the past with his and Sirius' exploits. James had a mean streak just like everyone else, but he could turn it into something that was more harmless than detrimental.
"Oh my, just look WHO we have here," he said and pushed off of the wall. "I was wondering when you'd get done snogging him and decide to grace rest of us commoners with your presence." He stretched off the wall, almost like a cat. "I've already checked and Sirius is inside, and he's just dying to hear about you and your lack of a date for our little outing tomorrow. He knows just the right boy he can perch you on and just NEEDS you to know right away so we can start planning."
He whirled dramatically and spoke the password to the Fat Lady; she swung open and the noise of the common room exploded into the hallway. Before Lily could do more than glower and open her mouth, he grabbed her arm, swept her in and up into the boy's dormitory, just in time to hear Sirius talking about his drinking game.
"Sirius!" James cried, releasing Lily. "I need your help, old man. Lily still doesn't have a date for our picnic tomorrow and she came crying to me for help. Any bright suggestions for this poor lonely thing?"
Longbottom might be a good one, he thought, twitching his head slightly in the direction of the young man on one of the beds.

"Hmm, if I were being generous, I'd say that there is Longbottom," Sirius snickered as he read James' cues. Although the boy was going to grow into a handsome and talented man, right now, even though he was quite capable, was also quite disgusting. It would be a charity for even Mother Lily to stand near him for longer than five seconds. He was pudgy, greasy - and not like Snape and only in his hair, but his entire body, and he emitted an odor that hinted faintly of flobberworm fungus.
"But...I'm not really feeling generous since you so unkindly interrupted our game," he waved a hand at the bottles, "and I think I'm going to say..." he turned to look at Lily, "no Potter, no date." He flashed his wide smile. "I gather you'll tell your friend we're not going then?" Sirius laughed inwardly. He was debating on whether Lily would join in on Remus and his little game, but it was unlikely. Maybe he'd ask...new plans were popping into his brain like fireworks until he remembered he had to compose his face seeing as he was in the middle of some most excellent trickery. "Well, Lily? Date for your pretty little friend or not?"

“Oh, very clever Sirius…I just have some clarifications before I answer, and a few demands as well. First, Potter? What gives you the right to drag me up here?” Lily questioned, unable to keep the grin off her face. “AND when did I come begging you for help. I asked you to tell Sirius here that I will be sending someone else in my place… that is until I changed my mind”
“Sirius? May you be generous as to answer a few questions I have?” Lily smiled to him, looking positively as innocent and defeated as she could manage while keeping her dignity. "What if i ended up getting a date after James here left me in the corriador? Do I still have to go with Potter?"

"I don't care about the poor bloke that you wrestled into taking you. I already told you and the condition stands. I go nowhere without Potter, so get off your high horse and give the git a chance," Sirius wondered if that was too harsh. James might be mad at him later for the way he talked to her. Well, Sirius thought, I guess I will have to get him drunk then.
"Hey," Sirius said, "how about you two stop bickering and have some fun. Want to play a game?" he said, shaking the bottle of firewhiskey at her.

“You are a very clever dog Sirius…where are we going to be meeting you and Potter?” Lily said, laughing at Sirius’s carefree ways
Well, I do need to learn to relax…a game with the boys could be fun…
“What’s the rules?” she asked, plopping herself down next to Sirius, tucking her legs underneath her to make room for James.

Sirius was delighted. It would be much more fun with more than two people. "What we do is take turns around the circle saying something we've never done. Then everyone who has done it takes a drink. No explanations are needed, you drinking will be confirmation enough." Phase one, complete. Now onward to phase two.
"It was my turn, so mine was, 'I've never missed the Hogwarts Express'."

Lily picked up the bottle of firewhisky and took a big gulp of it, relishing the heat as it slid down her throat.
“I have never transfigured myself into anything, no changes what-so-ever” Lily laughed, thinking no one would drink to this one.

Sirius' face was stricken. He looked at his fellow Marauders. Maybe if he got her drunk enough she would forget...
Sirius thought about taking a big, dramatic, swig, and hoped she would pass it off as them being gits and just wanting to drink...oh, who was he kidding? The girl was smart. Wait, he didn't have to drink at all. Sirius had transformed himself before, but he could change back. Sirius stopped his arm from twitching toward the bottle. Loophole!
"I've never been friends with Snivellus Snape." This one was for payback, even though she hadn't consciously asked the one question Sirius was afraid to drink to.

Lily knew that Sirius was trying to get her drunk, so she decided to go with it. Smiling she lifted the bottle to her lips, but stopped, not drinking any of the firewhisky.
"True, I am friends with Severus Snape, but have no idea who you're talking about...i have no friend with that name, or ever had one. The last name is the only sameness," Lily laughed, getting ready for some payback. Oh no...what have i gotten myself in to? Oh well.
“I have never snuck off after curfew and left the castle” she smiled.

Remus didn't even enjoy drinking, bloody hell. What was he doing taking part in this? Whatever. It would appease Sirius.
The reason Remus never enjoyed the sport was mostly because he never got more than a faint buzz. After much reading, he figured that the changes his body makes kept the alcohol from affecting him. He only hoped that they stopped liver poisoning too.
Never missed the Hogwarts Express. Alright, a little sip.
He almost choked on it though, along with dropping the damn bottle when Lily spoke. Shit. Shit shit shit. Remus shot a sideways look at Sirius that only he could see, and he definitely looked panicked for a moment. Then, he tried his best to play it off.
He took little sips to both questions, figuring they both would be obvious since well, damn, he was friends with the two most mischievous boys in all of Hogwarts. Then shot, " I've never not finished a book I've started." That should get them all.

Lily smiled, not even reaching for the bottle this time. She lived off of books for crying out loud. Remus is going to need to step up his game.
"I've never failed a test before," She added calmly. Suddenly, something clicked.
"Uhhh guys? Its past curfew, and in case you haven't noticed, there are two problems here. One, where's your fourth member, Peter? And two, in case you haven't noticed...I'm a girl in the boys dorm with three of the most misfit gits to ever walk the halls of Hogwarts and a bunch of bottles of firewhisky. What will happen if we get caught?" she asked, suddenly nervous as her goodie goodie insincts kicked in. I repeat to myself...what am i doing here with Potter's friends?
