Anne didn’t know whether she should believe James and Lily and forgive Sirius, or if she should storm out on the date after spilling butterbeer all over him. While she stared at his perfect face he made at her and into those oh-so innocent brown eyes, Anne couldn’t help but take the bait that everyone had laid out for her. Slowly, as Sirius stared at her, her lips pulled back into a smile and she whispered to him, “There’s nothing to forgive.”
Lily couldn’t take it any longer; she had to know the answer to that little thought nagging at the back of her head. “Sirius? Can I talk to you for a second? It’s kind of important,” Lily motioned for him to follow her to a corner of the tavern. For her friend’s sake, all the ladies in Hogwarts, for Sirius’s friend’s sakes, and ultimately, Sirius’s sake, Lily had to ask.

Sirius was relieved when Anne relaxed. He didn't want a slap in the face this early in the morning, and he also didn't think this was the worst thing he's done. Shrugging it off, he relaxed in his chair.
But then Lily motioned for him to accompany her aside, and Sirius was confused. 'Great, another time for Anne to get jealous,' he thought to himself.
"Uh, sure..." Sirius said with a confused expression upon his face. He was bewildered as to what Lily could ever want to ask him that could be so important. "What's up?" he asked her once they reached the corner of the tavern.

“What are you getting at Sirius?” Lily threw at him once they were safely out of earshot. When Sirius’s face revealed that he had no idea what she was talking about, she continued. “Look, Sirius, I’ve grown close to you, and are now one of my friends and I hate to ask this, but I have to know. Are you gay? You act as if the only thing on your mind every second is pick-up lines to get girls, but last night….well, last night you drank to the gay comment. I care about you, but I care about Anne as well. If you’re gay, then I don’t want you to get her hopes up and then crush her.” Lily looked at her friend, staring towards the two of them, clearly seeing the concern on Lily’s face.
Anne sat at the table, staring after Lily and Sirius, wonder what she wanted to talk to him about that couldn’t be said in front his date and his best friend. What are they talking about? Maybe I should listen in on the conversation…no Lily is my friend and I trust her. Anne tried convincing herself that it wasn’t anything and tried to ignore the fact that her best friend seemed to be spending a lot more time with Sirius than she was.
Lily was about to leave Sirius, but then quickly added, “Oh, and you might want to keep the flirting to a minimum around Anne. She’s easily jealous when her date flirts with other girls when with her.” Lily smiled, and left Sirius to contemplate what she just told and asked him. Putting on a mask to hide her concern, she slid back into her chair as if Lily merely asked Sirius if he thought the weather was nice.

Sirius stood there, frozen to the floor. What had he done? Apparently they had been playing a drinking game last night and he had admitted something about having gay thoughts...this couldn't be good. Maybe he could just pass it off as being drunk? Or maybe he could have said he was just joking. Deciding not to worry about that now, Sirius composed his face and walked back over to the table.
He smiled at Anne. Okay, so Lily didn't want him to hurt her friend. He resolved to keep the flirting to a minimum and simply not ask her out for a second date. But when he saw Anne's expression after merely a smile, he decided to take desperate measures.
He sat expressionless for the next few minutes, nodding at anything Anne said, cutting the ties. He even called her "Sara" for good measure. When Madam Rosmerta came back again, Sirius leaned forward and said breathily, showing obvious interest, "Hey, baby. What's your sign?"

Both Anne’s and Lily’s face was covered with shock as Sirius decided to call Anne by the wrong name, and then begin to openly flirt once again with the waitress…after apologizing for it a few seconds ago and being warned by Lily just a few seconds ago. Anne just stared at him, not knowing what to do anymore when it came to Sirius and his flirting. Her fingers tingled badly and she wanted to slap him with all her strength or she wanted to at least jinx his tongue to the top of his mouth so he didn’t have any way to flirt with any girl. Lily just looked like she wanted to just crack up laughing at Sirius’s daring behavior, but knew Anne wouldn’t like that too much so she just kept her mouth shut.
When Sirius began flirting with the waitress, Anne grabbed the butterbeer in front of her and daringly spilled it onto Sirius’s hair, leaving in a giant huff. Once Anne was out of the room, Lily couldn’t hold back her giggles any longer and started laughing. “I…warned…you…didn’t…I?” she replied to his gaze through little burst of giggles as butterbeer still dripped from his bangs.

'Good, it worked,' Sirius thought. Although he knew something like this was going to happen, he was still kind of annoyed about the butterbeer. She couldn't have just slapped him or at least thrown it on his clothes or face? Why the hair?
Although, he did admit he probably did look quite like a wet dog right now, and the irony almost made him laugh. Almost. He smiled and turned his head roughly, spraying the table with drops from his hair. "Lily, could you help me out with this?" he asked, comically toneless.
A bead of butterbeer dripped from his head.

Remus walked out of Honeydukes, his money pouch considerably lighter and a bag full of sweets. It was like being a little kid again, he thought. He walked back towards the castle, admiring the nice weather and the grounds. Maybe I'll just pick a nice tree to sit under and study there.
As he got close to the lake, he veered off a bit from the path and down the the grassy slope to the water's edge. He sat down under in the shade of one of the large trees and proceeded to pull out his books to study from.
Oh how nice it was to not have to worry about being bothered, or his books getting wet.

After his head was no longer dripping in butterbeer, he could see the hilarity of the situation. Although, he did smell. If he tripped someone would probably think he emptied the entire vault of alcohol at the Three Broomsticks.
"I think I'll leave you two alone," Sirius said, seeing as he was now dateless. "I'm going to head back up to the castle...take a shower," he said, wrinkling his nose at the smell. He walked out of the tavern.
When Sirius was just reentering the castle grounds, he decided it was too nice to sit inside, and decided to take a walk. He veered off and walked along the edge of the Great Lake. He kicked his shoes off and walked in the water. About a half hour later, Sirius saw someone sitting out along the edge. The silhouette under the tree appeared to be reading. Remus.
When Sirius got close enough he could tell for sure that it was Remus. He looked deeply submerged in some book or another. They all looked the same to him.
Kind of annoyed with him, Sirius decided not to sneak around and jump on him like he normally would. Instead, he went up and knocked the book from his hands. "Hey, Moony. What's with not waiting for us this morning? We always go down together. You know, our fantastic and earth shattering entrance?"

Ah well, there goes that.
Remus hurriedly collected his books and stuffed them back into his bag, fearing that yesterday may replay itself. A little annoyed, he said "Well, I figured neither of you would be up at the hour I was up, I didn't know it was a rule that I had to starve because you both had a late night. Plus you both had dates to get ready for that, speaking of which, why aren't you on that now?"
Remus stopped short though as the smell of Sirius reached him. "Bloody hell mate, again? Was last night not enough for you? You reek like you just got thrown in the Three Broomstick's storage barrels."

"Well," Sirius began. "Both of those questions kind of tie into eachother." Sirius was wondering what got up Remus' knickers, but decided it best just to let him be.
"Uh," he said, "apparently I did something last night and I had to screw up my date for Lily, and so I flirted with Rosie, and then whats-her-face poured her drink on my head," he recapped. "Oh, and then I was walking home because I decided to leave Lily and James alone to...well, yeah. Finish their date. And it was too nice out to go back to the castle so I went for a walk and saw you." Sirius finished up quickly and just kind of stood there. He felt...awkward, for some reason. The air was tense around them, like they were in a bubble that could burst at any moment.
The hell with it, he was going to ask, and if Remus got upset then it was his fault. Sirius was concerned, and it reached his eyes. "Are you okay, Remus?"

Lily couldn’t help but laugh as she dried Sirius’s hair, but it immediately stopped once he left her and James alone. Not knowing what to say to him anymore, she quietly took a sip of her butterbeer, thinking about what Sirius just did. Why would he intentionally ruin his date? I warned him to keep the flirting to a minimum since Anne was easily made jealous, but I also said that if he was gay I didn’t want Anne to get hurt. Was that his way of making sure she wouldn’t get hurt? By making her hate his guts? Wait, does that mean yes or no to the question. Thinking to herself, she dared a peek towards James, not knowing what to do anymore. Anne had stomped away from the Three Broomsticks unable to grasp what had just happened. Why did Sirius do that? Did Lily tell him to act that way with me when she pulled him aside? He was perfectly fine until she did that. Maybe the two of them want to get together so Sirius was trying to get rid of me and Lily will try to get rid of James? Maybe since I like Sirius and James likes Lily, they had to get their two friends to hate the other so it wouldn’t be betrayal if they got together. Wanting to confirm her suspicion, Anne peeked into the Three Broomsticks just to see James and Lily sitting there, looking awkward. Ok, so Sirius and Lily aren’t trying to go out today…then what could it be? Maybe I just overreacted? Deciding to go find Sirius, she started heading up towards the castle grounds, knowing he usually hung out by the black lake.
