(So if you don't appreciate spoilers be very careful, I'm not sure if we'll have any)
Wow I've already seen at least three people (including myself) with HP avatars. XD
SO. Movie's coming out. Who's going to see the midnight showing?? I've already pre-ordered my tickets. Now I've just got to plan a really obnoxious outfit. I've only got a Gryffindor shirt. I want to get the Dark Arts necklace to counterbalance. =P
RAMBLINGS~ So it actually doesn't look awful per se, by far the best looking movie since the second. Chamber of Secrets was my favorite movie so far. The first two were excellent and very accurate. Then the BEST Dumbledore EVER died (*sadness*) - and I mean he was perfect. Talked and looked just like I imagined (as did the rest of the cast), and then he got replaced. The new one's dirty and a grumpy one and he TIES his GRAY beard in the front and always seems to be scolding and less encouraging.
The rest of the cast in the first two were excellent too. Then Sirius and Lupin were cast very unlike I thought, the kiddies were frolicking out of uniform, they changed/took out crucial plot points, and the castle was rearranged. Sad too, because the third book was my favorite (now tied with the 6th).
Also, if nobody read the books, Peeves would never exist! Anyone else upset about that? I mean he wasn't my favorite but he also didn't deserve to be written out...there was someone else too...
ANYWAY. Your thoughts?

Me me meeeee i'm going! My ticket is now chilling in Steve, muh car haha I need to figure out what to wear too. I really wanted to go all out but now I'm thinking it'll just be jeans and my Dumbledore's army shirt. and I bought gold nail polish today so i'll do Gryffindor themed nails x] It looks good. ughhh though it doesn't look like it follows the book very well at all though. Wtf attack on the burrow?! and whats up with the bridge. I'm not suree. Although, I'm willing to accept now that the movies will be trumped by the books no matter what, and the movies have gotten worse at following. But they have some sort of specialness about them too? I dunno haha

OH MY GOSH.
I just went to get on, and the news said Rupert Grint has the swine flu. I almost cried. They say he's not contagious and it's really "minor", I didn't even know until now that the death statistics are actually very low.
ANYWAY.
I'm really worried about this one, because the 6th is tied for my favorite book ever (not just in this series). I've barely even seen the trailer...I should look into that.
That nail polish idea is really good! I'm going to do that too! I wish you lived near me Kenzie, you'd be my best friend ever and we'd totally be going together to make nerds out of ourselves<333
I'm just one of those people who never gets over how much the movie fails. If I were a director, I would never stray so far from the plot of the book....especially with something as widely read and enjoyed as Harry Potter!

LOL SWINE FLU. I laughed when I read that... because OH GOD it's regular flu. >>
I thought The Burrow DID get attacked tho? Something about the Death Eaters popping in on the wedding that was happening... but I guess that was the 7th book, haha.
That said... I'm not seeing it unless forced : X [SHUNNED] My mom wants to see it but given the climate of my personal life atm, I doubt that it'll happen. I stopped having hopes after the 4th movie and how butchered that was, and it pained me to sit through OotP. So... I will spend my money on "Public Enemies" instead, because ho damn I loves me some gangsters.

I'm not either but my love for HP overshadows alllll<333
And Neco, that was book 7. I only remember because I'm rereading constantly until I finish...so basically all day yesterday, today, and the day before. lol
And even if I know it will be bad I won't feel like a proper fan unless I see it...is that weird?
I didn't really like 4th book that much so I wasn't all too killed about a horrible movie and 5th wasn't my favorite book either but that one upset me a little more...I just almost cry every time I see the new Dumbledore (of anger)...I might actually be happy at the end of this movie. >.>

I've never been to one! That's why I'm so excited. I've been to the premier for Twilight's DVD...but that pales white enough to kill a ghost compared to a Harry Potter MOVIE premier! I'm soooo excited. And same, I felt all shy and nerdy, and usually didn't even know about them/wasn't allowed to go...or I thought I wouldn't be allowed to go so I didn't even bother to ask. I've never ever been to a midnight premier though, so this sounds really, really fun. ^.^

But but but Michael Gambon [or whatever his name is] is a great actor T_T Plus he dies in this movie so yeah lol. LOL SPOILER.
I've never been to premiers of anything D: At least not anything where people dress up... I stopped going to see Pirates of the Caribbean after seeing a group of teenagers dressed as pirates that would not stfu during the entire movie. Comcast on Demand ho!

eck. I can't stand Michael Gambon. I like the way he plays Dumbledore's eccentric side, because he is supposed to be slightly crazy, but I think Richard Harris played his general self much better. Calm, slow talking, wise. Most of all compassionate. I'm sure he could have toned it up a little for the crazy scenes!
The thing that made me just sick was the way (1.) they dyed his beard gray, not white, and (2.) the way he shook Harry at the shoulders! Dumbledore would never ever be mean to Harry! I mean just look at the way he took all of Harry's yelling in The Order of the Phoenix (?).

o_____x;; watched 'em all, read all the books. I -want- the old Dumbledore back <3. I seriously cried when his actor died, and they replaced him with someone with a flaming gray, tied up beard in the third one. D: HE ARE NOT SO GOOD.
That said, I still love the movies, even if they deviate from the plot so much. The only movie that I really didn't like the plot deviations in, was OOTP... and I still watch that obsessively, because it's got lots of Lucius in it. Yum<3. >.>;; My personal two favorite movies were the second and the third, because the second was very true to the book, I thought Lockhart was cast perfectly and it was a really good movie. The third because Sirius was cast how I thought he would be, and because overall, they managed to get the feel of godson/godfather first meeting correct... however.
HOWEVER.
I didn't like that Lupin was cast so differently to expected (though I love his actor, he's not exactly as imagined, is he?), that the castle got so messed up in layout, that the kids run around out of uniform (wtf?) and that Buckbeak's legs bend the wrong way at the front! EAGLES LEGS BEND DIFFERENTLY. AND THEY BEND LIKE HORSE LEGS. DDDDDx
I am gonna go see it, tho, just for the awesomeness of saying I've seen it. It's bound to be a -fun- movie, tho whether it sticks to the plot or wanders off into the wilderness, we'll see, huh? I haven't got a premiere ticket, but I'll just slump along to the cinemas to see it with my aunt or something. xDD

Ever since the first movie, Hogwarts has progressively gotten a lot smaller, and a LOT darker. It's like Hogwarts is changing with rawr Harry >>;
I like Sirius and Remus's actors, I really do hah. Like, seeing them in other movies. But they both just don't do it for me when it comes to these two. I didn't picture either of them like that at alllll hah. But I agree with you, Gildroy was spot on!<3 I always equate the book Harry, Ron, and Hermione to the movie one now looks wise. To me, they fit. But I stopped aging Danrad awhile ago in my mind and uh. GAVE HIM GREEN EYES >> Also thought the first Dumbledore was perfect, and also lovee the casting for Minerva, Hagrid, Snape, Molly, and a couple more I'm sure. I didn't like Flitwick though at all hah, he like randomly changed actors halfway through and the new guy killed me D:

lol Hogwarts is getting emo cause Harry doesn't stfu. It's emo magic D:
I thought Buckbeak looked fine D: You have to remember, since he's pretty much a horse, if you were to throw in how bird legs do bend... the bugger would fall on his face. Horses have a different foreleg structure compared to carnivores and while eagle legs MIGHT work on a regular gryphon, I feel that they did a better job on Buckbeak than I would've imagined. He's designed for not just flight but also running around and he still has the same feel of being a really big... pissed off bird D: I dunno, all my bio classes are coming out in this T_T
And in OotP, which Dumbledore shaking Harry... Voldemort is back and since he's the only wizard that can combat him... wouldn't that stress you the hell out? D= He reacted the way any human being would, lost his temper but OH NO, we all got over it. Plus he was purposely distancing himself from Harry throughout that entire book, so why would he still try and go out of his way to treat him all special? Hell if a kid I knew had info about some big baddie and wouldn't tell me, I'd shake his ass too, hahahaha.
I dunno. I feel like I just kinda fell out of this whole thing and the whole Blair Witch rip off in the 7th book lol. They lost the effing map T_T

No they didn't? When did they lose the map?
And I dunno...he's like that in the third too. Harry's all like "Hey Dumbledore" and he comes out, screams at all the kids to get out of the courtyard, and then goes back inside. I dunno...he just...HIS APPEARANCE more than anything. If he looked a little nicer and like the old Dumblie I wouldn't be so harsh toward him. >.<
